Nose surgery, also known as rhinoplasty, is suitable for people who do not like the shape or size of their nose and, as a result, do not feel as confident as they normally would. Nose surgery simply improves the appearance and proportion of your nose by decreasing/increasing or re-shaping its size. In addition, the surgery may have medical effects in cases such as impaired breathing caused by structural abnormalities in the nose (inherited or externally caused). People as young as sixteen years old may undergo this surgery as the development of nose is completed early on in life. Therefore, the main objective of rhinoplasty is to increase confidence and self-esteem of the client.

What To Expect After Rhinoplasty Surgery
Normally you will stay at the clinic for 2 days. By this time the nose will be covered with tampons that do not allow breathing through the nose. Subsequently, the client has to breathe through the mouth. The tampons are usually removed after two days when breathing through the nose can be resumed. The client then recovers at our private apartment for the next 5 days before flying back home. You may experience swelling and bruising around the area of eyes, which is only temporary (usually disappears within a week or two). Additional nose protection such as a plaster splint will be removed 3 weeks after the surgery (you may be asked to wear it for another 2 weeks during nights). The final shape and size of the nose can be seen three months after the surgery.
The Risks of Rhinoplasty
Although complications are not frequent, it is very important to follow the surgeon's advice and cooperate with him to avoid possible complications (e.g. regular massaging).
Infections: caused by poor hygiene or physical damage to the fragile nose within the first two months after the surgery.
After the surgery, the client may have to adjust to his/her new look. On the other hand, the "new look" is mostly positive and welcomed.

Tips and Traps of Rhinoplasty
- The best client is highly motivated to undergo this surgery and cooperates with the surgeon. If you take good care of your nose, you will recover faster and avoid problems later.
- The optimal age for rhinoplasty is between 16-40 years. If you are older than that, you must accept that you are more prone to complications and your recovery time is longer.
- Rhinoplasty is not suitable for heavy smokers. If you are a heavy smoker and would like to undergo this surgery, try to stop smoking completely at least three months in advance.
